Purchase Manager

Job Description

We are hiring a Purchase Manager for an Oil & Gas company based in Bangalore.

The role involves sourcing, negotiating, and procuring electronic and electromechanical components.

The candidate will be responsible for vendor management, cost optimization, and uninterrupted supply operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies for electronic and electromechanical components.
• Identify suppliers, evaluate proposals, and finalize vendor selection.
• Maintain knowledge of market trends, pricing, and new technologies.
• Build and manage strong vendor relationships (domestic & international).
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
• Raise purchase orders and track delivery timelines.
• Coordinate with production, stores, engineering, and QA teams.
• Monitor inventory levels and avoid shortages or overstocking.
• Implement cost-saving initiatives and vendor development strategies.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and procurement policies.
• Maintain documentation, reports, and audit records.
• Handle supplier audits and performance evaluation.

Required Skills

• Strong experience in procurement of electronic and electromechanical components.
• Knowledge of sheet metal, pneumatics, PCB assemblies, and industrial components.
• Experience in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Tally.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Good understanding of supply chain and procurement processes.
• Analytical mindset with cost optimization focus.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and tight timelines.
• Knowledge of import/export procedures is an advantage.
