Traffic Manager - Fleet & Transport Operations

Job Description

We are hiring a Traffic Manager for a transportation company located in Vapi.

The candidate will be responsible for managing vehicle movement, route planning, and transport operations.

The role requires strong coordination, decision-making ability, and operational control.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and monitor daily vehicle movement.
• Ensure optimum utilization of fleet and resources.
• Coordinate dispatch and delivery schedules.
• Develop efficient route plans to minimize delays and costs.
• Track vehicle movement using GPS/transport systems.
• Supervise and coordinate with drivers.
• Liaise with clients, warehouse teams, and vendors.
• Provide regular updates on shipment status.
• Handle escalations related to delays or disruptions.
• Ensure adherence to transport regulations and company policies.
• Maintain trip records, permits, PODs, and documentation.
• Monitor fuel usage and cost control.
• Address delays, breakdowns, and operational issues.
• Take quick decisions to ensure minimal disruption.

Required Skills

• Experience in transportation or fleet management.
• Strong knowledge of route planning and dispatch operations.
• Familiarity with GPS tracking systems.
• Good leadership and driver coordination skills.
• Ability to handle pressure and operational challenges.
• Basic computer knowledge for reporting and documentation.
