We are hiring a Production Manager from the Plastic industry to lead daily production operations, ensure quality compliance, improve productivity, and support long-term manufacturing excellence. The role involves team leadership, production planning, quality control, reporting, and cross-functional coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Production Operations
Lead, motivate, and supervise the production team to achieve daily and monthly targets.
Oversee end-to-end production activities in the plastic unit.
Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machines, and materials.
Coordinate with Production Planning & Scheduling (PPC) to meet customer demand.
Quality & Compliance
Ensure high-quality standards are maintained throughout the production process.
Implement quality control systems to minimize defects and rejections.
Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and industry standards.
Apply statistical tools, FMEA, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement practices.
Process Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve productivity and reduce waste.
Implement long-term improvement strategies and process optimization.
Drive automation and efficiency enhancements where applicable.
Reporting & Documentation
Share daily, monthly, and annual reports on production, rejection, efficiency, manpower, downtime, and shortages.
Maintain ERP/MES systems for production data, planning, and tracking.
Update and maintain skill matrices and shop floor training records.
Team Development
Provide training to shop-floor employees to upgrade skills and productivity.
Build a performance-driven culture and monitor team KPIs.
Support workforce planning, discipline, and shift management.
Cross-Functional Coordination
Collaborate with Sales, Procurement, Logistics, Maintenance, and Quality teams.
Coordinate raw material and WIP inventory to avoid production delays.
Ensure smooth operations and alignment with business objectives.
Skills & Qualifications
In-depth knowledge of plastic manufacturing, and QC processes.
Strong leadership, team management, and decision-making skills.
Proficiency in production planning tools (ERP/MES).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
Experience with statistical tools, FMEA, RCA, and continuous improvement techniques.
Ability to manage safety, compliance, and production KPIs effectively.
