Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior R&D Manager with a strong background in lubricants formulation, base oils, additives, and industrial chemistry. The candidate will lead our research, new product development, formulation improvement, and technical innovation at our Silvassa plant. This role requires deep expertise in chemistry, tribology, product testing, performance analysis, and plant-scale trials.

Key Responsibilities

Lead R&D projects related to lubricant formulation for automotive, industrial, and specialty applications.
Develop new products, optimize existing formulations, and conduct performance evaluations.
Select and validate base oils, additives, viscosity modifiers, dispersants, detergents and other raw materials.
Oversee bench testing, field trials, QC parameters, and product validation.
Work closely with production teams for pilot batches and plant-scale implementation.
Monitor industry trends, regulatory updates, and global advancements in the lubricants sector.
Prepare technical documents, formulation reports, SOPs, MSDS, and application guidelines.
Collaborate with suppliers, testing labs, and customers for technical support.
Ensure compliance with quality standards, environmental norms, and safety practices.

Strong knowledge of lubricant chemistry, base oils, additive technology, tribology, rheology and compatibility testing.
Hands-on experience with ASTM, ISO, BIS testing methods.
Ability to design formulations for engine oils, hydraulic oils, gear oils, greases, metalworking fluids, and specialty lubricants.
Familiar with laboratory instruments like viscometers, FTIR, TBN/TAN analysis, oxidation stability testers, and more.
Experience in team leadership, project management, and cross-functional coordination.
